Senior AI engineering jobs
Seniority in this field is unusually hard to fake, because almost nobody has ten years of it and everybody has a demo. What separates the senior listings is that they ask for the parts that only show up after something has been in front of real users for a while.

Evaluation, cost and failure
The recurring senior questions are how you know the system got better, what it costs to serve, and what it does when the model is wrong or the provider is down. Teams that have been burned ask these first. An honest account of an evaluation set you built, including the parts that did not correlate with what users cared about, is the strongest thing you can bring to one of these conversations.
A young field with old engineering problems
Most of what makes these systems reliable is not new: queues, retries, timeouts, caching, idempotency, and knowing which work belongs off the request path. Candidates arriving from ordinary backend work are often closer to qualified than they assume. Because titles here are unreliable, this collection filters on the level the employer stated and classifies the role from the description.
