About The Role
The RealReal is looking for a highly experienced and self-motivated Staff Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join our Sales & Retail team.
Working closely with Product partners and Engineering management, you will build technical solutions enhancing, optimizing and iterating the RealReal’s Sales & Retail platform to support TRR’s sales and retail associates with tooling, and enable seamless customer experiences in sales and retail channels. The RealReal is looking for a highly experienced and self-motivated Staff Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join our Sales & Retail team.

- Design and Develop: Lead the architecture and development of software solutions, making strategic decisions that influence our technical direction.
- Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align technology development with business objectives, effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Code Review and Quality Assurance: Perform rigorous code reviews and advocate for best coding practices to ensure our products are efficient and maintainable.

Minimum Requirements:
- At least 8 years of software development experience
- Required experience with Java and Ruby
- Proven experience with the development, scaling, and maintenance of distributed systems
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, architectural design, and agile development methodologies
- Excellent analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to work independently on complex issues
- Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex ideas clearly and concisely
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of software development experience with a track record of successfully shipping consumer or business facing products
- Experience with Elixir is a plus
- Familiarity with Front-end JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
- Familiarity with Gradle and Spring Boot
- Familiarity with Python
- Familiarity with AWS
- Contributions to open-source projects or a strong GitHub portfolio.
