The Role
The Role
- Lead technical decision-making and architecture for critical infrastructure
- Design and implement scalable, reliable, and performant solutions for complex problems like rate-limiting and routing
- Maintain and improve the core load balancing platform and other traffic management systems
- Write, review, and maintain code primarily in Go and Ruby & Rails
- Mentor other engineers in technical and architectural decisions
- Participate in on-call rotation and team meetings to ensure service reliability
- 9+ years of experience in Software Engineering or related discipline, with a proven track record in production software using languages like Go, Ruby, Python, Java, C++, etc.
- 4+ years building and supporting large, high-traffic applications at scale within platform/infrastructure domains
- 4+ years supporting and building cloud-native workloads in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
- 2+ years maintaining a Load Balancer, with experience in abuse protection mechanisms (e.g., DDoS attacks, load shedding)
- Experience with HAProxy or other open-source Load Balancers is a plus
- Strong written communication skills and ability to thrive in a distributed, remote environment
