Senior / Staff Software Engineer | Full Stack & Agentic AI
A fast-growing US technology organisation is hiring Senior and Staff Software Engineers to join a highly autonomous product engineering team.
This isn't a traditional environment where engineers simply work through predefined tickets. You'll understand the business, speak directly with users, identify worthwhile problems and own solutions from idea through production.
The organisation is also building an AI-forward engineering practice, with agentic AI becoming a fundamental part of how software is designed, built, tested and operated.
These are fully remote roles within the United States.
The Role
We're looking for experienced full-stack engineers who combine strong engineering fundamentals with product judgement and hands-on experience building with modern AI technologies.
You'll work across the stack, including the UI and have significant autonomy over how problems are solved.
You'll also help develop agentic engineering capabilities, including agents that review code, reproduce and fix bugs, capture business context and automate parts of the development lifecycle.
The goal isn't simply to generate code faster. It's to use AI to enable engineers to own larger and more complex problems.
Responsibilities
- Own engineering problems from discovery through production
- Build across frontend, backend and infrastructure
- Work directly with users to identify problems and opportunities
- Build scalable, reliable software and APIs
- Build and improve agentic AI systems and engineering workflows
- Develop approaches for agent context, orchestration, evaluation and guardrails
- Use modern AI coding tools throughout your development workflow
- Make pragmatic architectural decisions and understand the trade-offs
- Own the reliability and operation of what you build
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction
What We're Looking For
- Typically 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong full-stack experience with the ability to deliver through to the UI
- Backend experience with Python, TypeScript, Go, Java, C# or similar
- Frontend experience with React, TypeScript or comparable technologies
- Experience taking ambiguous problems from discovery through production
- Strong product mindset and willingness to engage directly with users
- Hands-on experience building with AI coding assistants and agentic development tools
- Experience building AI agents, agentic workflows or AI-enabled products
- Understanding of context design, orchestration, evaluations, guardrails and human review
- Strong production engineering, testing, CI/CD and observability experience
Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, Kubernetes, streaming or high-volume data would be advantageous.
The Environment
You'll join an engineering organisation moving towards high-autonomy, AI-enabled product engineering.
Engineers are encouraged to find problems themselves, understand the customer and business context and take responsibility for outcomes rather than simply implementation.
AI is embedded throughout the engineering process but engineering judgement remains critical.
What's On Offer
- Fully remote across the United States
- Up to $190k base salary
- Senior and Staff opportunities
- Highly autonomous engineering environment
- Genuine opportunity to build with agentic AI in production
- Full ownership from problem discovery through production
- Opportunity to influence how AI changes engineering practices
- Technology with direct impact on large-scale real-world operations
