What Your Day Will Look Like

As a Senior Software Engineer (Java), you'll play a central role in building and scaling backend systems that power live fan engagement for millions of sports fans worldwide.

Working at the heart of our engineering delivery squads, you'll collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, Data Engineers, and Frontend Developers.

One day you might be architecting event-driven microservices to ingest live match data and commentary feeds. The next, you could be optimizing RESTful APIs for high concurrency during major sporting events, leading release deployments, or establishing technical guilds to drive Java best practices across the engineering chapter.

You'll serve as an effective Tech Lead, taking ownership of technical execution, mentoring fellow developers, and ensuring our codebases remain clean, maintainable, and built to scale under massive live loads.

Your Background

You don't need to tick every box, but we're generally looking for:

Expert Knowledge

• Java Core: Proven expertise in Java 17+

• Frameworks: Strong background with Spring Boot and Spring 5+

• Data Persistence: Deep experience with JPA / Hibernate and relational databases (SQL)

• Architecture: Hands-on experience designing and building Microservice Architectures and RESTful APIs

• Version Control & Management: Mastery of Git workflows and Jira for task management

• Quality Assurance: Commitment to comprehensive Unit Testing and technical documentation

Competent With

• Streaming & Event Systems: Kafka or similar message brokers

• Containerization & Cloud: Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS products

• Build & CI/CD: Maven and Continuous Integration pipelines

Understanding Of

• Python scripting

• Web basics (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
