Position Summary
The Full Stack Developer designs, builds, and supports reliable, scalable web applications, APIs, integrations, and distributed workflows. This backend-focused role requires strong Java and Spring experience, with occasional contributions to Angular front-end development.
The successful candidate will independently own features and integrations from requirements through production support while collaborating with engineering, QA, product, operations, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Java applications using Spring and/or Spring Boot.
- Build secure, scalable REST APIs, microservices, integrations, and backend workflows.
- Own assigned features and integrations from requirements and technical design through deployment, documentation, and production support.
- Integrate internal systems with SaaS platforms, partner APIs, and third-party services.
- Design for reliability, security, error handling, data integrity, testability, observability, and maintainability.
- Diagnose defects and distributed-system issues across applications, integrations, and organizational boundaries.
- Safely enhance and refactor components within established production codebases.
- Contribute to Angular user interfaces when coordinated front-end and backend development is required.
- Translate business and product requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Break complex or ambiguous work into executable tasks, identify dependencies, and communicate delivery risks early.
- Develop unit and integration tests covering new functionality, edge cases, and critical system behavior.
- Partner with QA to establish testable acceptance criteria and strengthen automated coverage.
- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, estimation, and engineering planning.
- Document APIs, integrations, technical decisions, dependencies, and operational requirements.
- Support continuous improvement of development, testing, release, and production-support practices.
Key Partnerships
- Engineering: Architecture, design, code quality, shared services, and troubleshooting.
- QA and Automation: Acceptance criteria, automated testing, and release readiness.
- Product: Requirements, priorities, dependencies, and technical tradeoffs.
- Operations and Support: Monitoring, documentation, production readiness, and issue resolution.
- External Partners: Implementation and support of third-party integrations.
Required Qualifications
- Five or more years of professional software development experience, or equivalent experience performing independently in a mid-to-senior engineering role.
- Strong backend development experience with Java.
- Production experience with Spring and/or Spring Boot.
- Experience designing, consuming, testing, and troubleshooting REST APIs and third-party integrations.
- Working knowledge of modern front-end development.
- Ability to independently manage complex or ambiguous engineering work from definition through completion.
- Experience working in established production codebases using source control, code reviews, automated testing, and structured release processes.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
- Strong problem-solving, systems-thinking, and technical judgment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Angular development experience.
- Experience with microservices and distributed application architectures.
- Experience integrating SaaS platforms, partner APIs, and third-party services.
- Experience with cloud-hosted applications, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and production support.
- Experience with order management, subscriptions, entitlements, licensing, provisioning, activation, or similar workflow-driven systems.
- Exposure to IoT, connected devices, telecommunications, or device-lifecycle systems.
- Experience with Protocol Buffers or the Play Framework.
