About us

Pet Media Group (PMG) is a scale-up that acquires, launches, and develops market-leading pet marketplaces globally, with over 1.5 million animals finding new homes through our platforms every year. We currently operate in 6 countries (UK, Sweden, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and the US), all within just 5 years of launching. Here's one of our apps: Pets4Homes.co.uk

The way pets find new loving homes has remained largely unchanged for centuries. We're on a mission to change that through innovative technology, and increasingly through the intelligent use of AI. We're a young and ambitious team who have built unicorns before (e.g. Avito), backed by some of Europe's leading investors (e.g. Verdane and Otiva, early backers of Klarna, CAIA, Apotea, and Easypark).

Who are we looking for?

We're growing our Monetisation team and looking for an Engineering Manager to lead it. This is a hands-on leadership role. You'll grow and support a team of engineers, own delivery and technical direction for the Monetisation domain, and stay close enough to the code to make sound calls alongside your team.

The Monetisation team works on several key parts of the business. In the VAS (value-added services) domain they build and maintain everything from pricing, checkouts and payment processing, recurring subscriptions, product activations, and experimentation/CRO. They also build and maintain an escrow system that lets users safely run the entire transaction through the platform, touching topics like KYC/KYB/identity verification, payment processing and payouts.

You'll be accountable for how this team performs: the quality of what it ships, the growth of the people on it, and how the roadmap connects daily engineering work to revenue outcomes. You'll partner closely with product and the wider engineering leadership to set priorities and clear blockers.

We also want someone who treats AI as a core part of how a modern team works. You encourage your engineers to use LLMs and AI tooling in their daily workflow, and you have a view on where the technology takes our ways of working.

What you'll do Requirements

We're a fast-growing scale-up. We want teams that build fast, fail fast, and learn fast. You don't need to be a world-class expert in every tool we use, but you do need a critical, open mindset, a strong engineering background, and a genuine enthusiasm for AI-assisted development.
