Role Snapshot
Location: LATAM - (Remote)
Schedule: Part-time | 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. ET
Type: Contractor
Position Summary
The Developer Specialist delivers build and maintenance work across the technical stack: Cloudflare, Azure, WordPress/PHP, and internal AI tooling. Most requests land in the PSA, and all work and time gets tracked there, but the role is not limited to sitting in a queue. It also takes direction directly from the CEO, and is expected to resolve, build, or escalate without needing every step spelled out.
This is a junior-to-mid, low-supervision seat inside a fast-moving, tech-first managed services business. The person in it is expected to adapt to shifting priorities, flag anything they cannot resolve the same day, and keep every piece of work visible in the PSA.
Responsibilities
Track all work and time in the PSA (HaloPSA), including work assigned directly and not just what arrives as a ticket.
Work the Development ticket type, WebDev team, where most client and internal requests arrive.
Resolve client WordPress and web issues: site bugs, broken pages, malformed URLs, malicious code checks, and feature requests, for MSP and marketing clients.
Perform general maintenance across sites and custom apps hosted on Cloudflare Workers, Cloudflare Pages, and WordPress/custom PHP sites.
Triage automated alerts that land in the PSA: app error reports, SFTP file changes, malicious code scans, and broken-page reports. Confirm what is real, fix what needs fixing, and close what is noise.
Ensure every ticket carries a resolution note: what broke, what was done, and any follow-up required.
Ensure no ticket sits untouched beyond the agreed SLA window without a status update.
Build and maintain PHP-based WordPress sites and plugins.
Write and maintain PowerShell scripts and Azure Runbooks for automation tasks.
Build and extend Cloudflare Workers, Pages, R2, D1, and KV-based apps.
Support and extend internal MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers, used to connect Claude and other AI tooling to internal systems. Building new servers is a stretch task, not a baseline expectation at this level.
Document builds and fixes in the internal documentation system, following house style.
Escalate blockers and personal knowledge gaps the same working day.
Flag security-relevant findings (malicious code, exposed secrets, compromised accounts) the same day they are found.
Use AI tooling daily as a working instrument (Claude, Claude Code, Cursor), and own the quality of the output. Unreviewed output is not a deliverable.
Follow core security practices without exception: secrets and tokens go in a key vault or secrets manager, never in code or plain text; data at rest and in transit stays encrypted; credentials are never committed to code or tickets.
Adapt to fast-changing priorities and scope. Tasks, tools, and priorities can shift with little notice.
Requirements (Must-Have)
Junior-level experience, combined across web development and IT support or operations work.
Working knowledge of PHP and WordPress: themes, plugins, custom post types, REST API.
Working knowledge of the Cloudflare Developer Platform: Workers, Pages, D1, R2, KV.
Basic PowerShell scripting and basic Azure familiarity: Automation Accounts, Runbooks.
Basic TypeScript or JavaScript (Node.js).
Basic DNS management: A/CNAME/MX/TXT records, propagation, and troubleshooting.
Basic familiarity building and hosting environments on Azure, Cloudflare, and platforms like DigitalOcean or Cloudways.
Daily hands-on use of AI dev tooling (Claude, Claude Code, Cursor), with an explanation of how output was validated — non-negotiable.
PSA or ticketing platform experience — HaloPSA preferred.
Git-based workflow: branches, pull requests, code review.
Core security hygiene: secrets management, encryption at rest and in transit, credential handling.
English C1+, client-ready in writing, light accent.
Direct communication style; comfortable raising a question or a blocker the moment it arises, and adapting fast when priorities shift.
Preferred but not required: experience with Next.js, Prisma, or Postgres/Supabase; Docker; background in MSP or MSSP environments; Graph API or M365 automation; familiarity with CIPP or NinjaOne.
