Role Description This full-time Back End Developer role is an on-site position based in Amsterdam. The Back End Developer will design, build, and maintain server-side applications and APIs that support Netventis’ conference platform and internal tools. Daily responsibilities include implementing scalable and secure features, integrating third-party services, optimizing database and application performance, and troubleshooting technical issues. The role involves collaborating with product, event operations, and front-end teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. The developer will also contribute to code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of the development workflow.

Qualifications

Strong skills in Back-End Web Development and Software Development for building and maintaining server-side applications.
Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and general Programming concepts for designing clean, reusable, and maintainable code.
Basic familiarity with Front-End Development to collaborate effectively with UI/UX and front-end engineers.
Experience with one or more back-end languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, C#, Node.js, Python, Ruby, or similar), and RESTful API design.
Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases, including schema design, queries, and performance tuning.
Understanding of security best practices, testing methodologies, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
Ability to work on-site in Amsterdam, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and communicate clearly in English.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; experience in event-tech or SaaS environments is a plus.
